any thought on this ???

woke up to find the pike's eye white and now maybe infected...anybody have experience with this type of eye problem...

I am sorry to hear this.. but i would melafix and pinafix in a hospital tank..use both together and follow directions.. i say this because you do not want to treat a big tank if you do not have too.. I hope he gets better soon.. especially if you found it right away..it has a very good chance..

GOLLLLIE!!! Thats not good for sure!! Its probably the condition known as Pop Eye. Its a pretty serious disease. Not sure how fish get it, i think the most common way is either by feeders or some other pathogen. There is, luckily, a medication out there that will treat it.

Heres a little bit of info i found on the web for ya..;)

Basically, definately treat it as it can and will make the eye explode, makin the fish loose the eye obviously. I am not sure if its really contageous...but its possible.

rip..............he was about 4 yrs old.

oh no why?? The most i thought he would lose the eye.. how awful.. i am sorry.. I am sorry John.. :(

i think the problem is that it was advanced by the time i caught it........there are lots of rocks and its not unusal to not see a given fish for many days.............i think thats what happened here.....

I have the uv cranked up for safety sakes.....no other problems in that tank as of now.

thanks
