What options of pike choices do I have for a 75g tank?

1) Pike can't be super aggressive
2) pike will live with a snakehead, silver dollars, and bichirs

Based off of that, what types of pike would make a viable candidate?

How can a pike that is not aggressive compete with a channa? I would say the 75 is stuffed to the teeth already. I think a pike, and one other fish would be ok. Like a cincta with a tinfoil or some other big barb. Or a Ven...Both of those pikes get about 18". Might not be good for a 75. With your stock, options are limited.

i agree...tank is too small to add any pikes for long-term

get rid of the channa and then a pike is an option. also pieks are way better imo

Cr. menezesi is supposedly less aggressive than other pikes, gets about 8 inches. I've got one about 3.5 inches in a 75 with a similar sized carpintis, which I've noticed it is already showing some aggression towards. I'm hopeful it will coexist with either the carpintis or my GT which is in another tank (he's a lot larger though)

na not all channa are uber aggressive. For example, comparing a redline sh vs a dwarf sh such as Gachua. Gachua's are quite mellow, unless they're able to fit in its mouth.

But yea nvm, my channa is my main priority.

Fish tend to abuse fish that remotely look like themselves, such as channa and pikes...I imagine bowfin, would have the same issue...If you keep fancy guppies with a betta, the betta will kill them, if you keep neon tetras with a guppy, all is well. I would focus on the channa as well...Good luck to you.

channa and bichirs are actually known to work very well together:)

A channa does not look enough like a bichir..Blood parrots and pikes work well together as well. I noted my observations in the profile sticky, in the CA/SA forum.
