I think it matches
Scatocephalus picture. It is exactly like the one in the upper left but a little bit more red. So by that it would be atabapo type1.
It wont take anything but live. I had to pull it from my 125gal. I put it in my 75gal. I am going to keep working on it. I have it with my brokopondo growout that is on pellets. Hopefully it will make the switch soon. I am going to give it more time, but long term if it won't switch I am going to have to sell it. I can't have fish on live.
At 8-9" it can easily go without food for 1 month. Start with frozen bloodworms or frozen something before going to pellets. I had a 6" female that wouldn't touch anything for 3 weeks, eventually it started to eat frozen bloodworm. It was by itself. Now it eats 6mm pellets with gusto.
In the pic is my Atabapo red pike. The local fish store after 6 months finally got another one and am very tempted to purchase it, however, I may have to keep them separate due to size.
