Pike ID Thread - Any guesses...Lots of pics.

Just picked this little dude up at the LFS labeled "Tiger Pike"...

Any ideas what it exactly is?

Started chasing Guppies 10 seconds after being in the tank...

Last one I got from this LFS was labeled "Red Pike" and ended up being a Venz.

Looks like a young sp. 'bellycrawler'. Congrats! They are phenomenal pikes for sure!

There are A LOT of pikes that have some red coloration.

He/She does seem to be hovering close to the bottom.

It is a juvie Bellycrawler like Peanut says. He is one of the few I wouldn't question on IDs

Ha!!! I still mess up, so its good to question and help each other out! Pikes can be tricky sometimes.

How are yours doing sir? Still have your red faced lugub? Probably the coolest pikes you have, and you have some awesome pikes!

Yep, still have them all although the bellycrawler is looking rough. It was an adult when I got is so no idea how old it is. The lent I got from you is starting to assert itself a little more, although it still doesn't want to take pellets. The cincta is fat and happy and the sveni cruises the whole tank and nobody bothers it. It even takes shrimp pieces away from the cincta and lent and they just let it. It is funny.

Hope all is well in your neck of the woods. I am missing the auction Sat. World cup starts for the US and a friend is having a bachelor party. Hopefully there won't be any cool new worlds I miss out on.

Had this guy a week now, he has cleaned out all the baby guppies from the tank he is in...

He also loves Krill. Even at his tiny size he will take down a piece like 1/2 the size of him, it's funny watching him carry it around. He will follow your finger around the tank and is very social, way different from my other Pike (Venz). I'll do some updated pics in a week or two once he puts on a little size.
