That's what I thought. But I'm new to pikes. So wanted some opinions. Thanks.

Thanks for that link. The johana and the xingu 1 are what I narrowed it down to but it has a lot of red when its in the tank and not stressed. I dident know that johana were common. So I figured it was a xingu 1 I can't get a pic of it in the tank because it always hides. And as soon as you go up to the tank the jag and trimac get in the way thinking there gonna eat. Thanks for the replys.

I think it's a johana

:iagree: If you look at it, its nostrils are close to the tip of the snout, and there is no ocelli at the base of the caudal. Two distinct characteristics of johanna.

Now the really question is, which variant is it? There are so many variants its mind boggling!

johanna and a big one at that.

Btw, there was a nice female at the MCA that was entered in the show. Unfortunately I didn't get to see her in the display tank, because for some stupid reason they put a 10" fish in a 10gal tank. Needless to say she busted the hell outa it.

I did get a look at her in the holding tub though, and she was quite the fish. :)

Johana then great thanks. Male or female? Sorry for all the questions. Pikes are awsome and I'm doing a lot of reshearch on the ones I really like this one is my brothers and I'm kinda doing research for him. Sorry and thanks.
