Pike ID?

I'm know there a sax group pike, but was wondering if anyone could narrow down species for me? They don't look anything like the regular belly crawlers they had in the tank as well. Sorry for the bad pic, had to take it with my phone.

Really? That was my first impression, but I figured I was wrong. I'm gonna have to pick up a couple tomorrow to see if I can grow out either a male to go with my female, or a pair on their own. $10 each.

Those are some HUGE snakeskin gourami in the tank with them! Wow!

Yah, one of the snakeskins is like 7 or 8". He's massive. But they have him in a tiny cramped tank with several others, plus all those pikes.

But I'm definitely picking at least a pair of those venz up tonight .

If you are trying to get a pair, best pick up three or four of them. Better your chances all the way around.

You should totally rescue those snakeskins as well.

Well, I don't really have room for the snakeskins. My red snook would probably beat them up, as he's become a little bit of a bully to fish shaped like himself. He's finally tolerating the 2 climbing perch I put in there (just took him 2 months to get comfortable with them).

I ended up not picking up any of the ven pikes. I bought a stingray instead . Impulse buy, and used up my fish money for the moment. If there are any left next weekend, then I may pick up a few then. There were a couple of really nice sized ones, already around 4-4.5", and nice and fat.
