I'd say yes, it's a Crenicichla sp. 'Venezuela,' commonly referred to as vens or vennies. They're one of the most common pikes available commercially. They start out with black horizontal stripes and dots on their heads as young fish, then turn into this more solid-colored fish as they mature.
