Hey guys, saw these in a very reputable North Jersey store labeled as Lents. Could use some of your expert advice, as Im not quite convinced. I don't want to accuse the store of a mislabel until I'm 100% positive, and I know some of you guys (crenicichla444) are wizards when it comes to this. Can you you help a brotha?!?! :screwy:

Yep I know you're at shark aquarium :p those are actually either Venezuela or lugubris sp. variant. Vens are one of the more common ones but they sure are awesome pikes. However $40 is a little bit pricey if try and get it lower if you like them. but they look much thicker and solid than my marmorata (although they would normally still be under protection from parents at this size and are Prob smaller than the vens at shark aquarium) very nice looking love the tail on them they have a drab color but still look very attractive. Vens can get big supposedly hit 20+ inches however never seen one even close to that big. Lugubris sp. can hit 16ish inches and get thick.

As always thanks man! Yea i was pretty sure they weren't but wanted to be certain. I love the lents, kept them before but was forced to sell when I moved. Seeing as I always need ID help, i figured I'd ask the experts. If they were lents I would've scooped up the whole clan at those prices!
:headbang2. I'm definitely gonna pass on these, nice looking but have me eyes on others

Aquascape has lents and they are in nj.

Thanks for the heads up! I know they have or had marms, Ill go check them out this weekend.
