just picked up this pike from my LFS they were unsure as to what it is ,it has a spot on the tail and also a faint one on the dorsal anyone any idea what it is and also male or female, thanks.

Nice! It's a belly crawler. Stay decent sized and not overly aggressive very cool fish.

Yes can't see the dorsal blotch in your pic but if it does it's a female. Females also get a nice red belly too. awesome pike you should grab a male as well and try breeding them
