I could be wrong but I don't think it is Lepidota. The Lateral line on the Lepidota is solid
and continuous on that species. Whereas on yours it is a broken lateral line. I would lean more towards a Sveni, But others who know more about Sax's would better tell.

Hi, I know this is a poor picture but this pike hides under some rockwork and only comes out when I feed krill.
By this picture could anyone give me an educated guess or a possible speices?
It is growing fairly fast and is about 6"
I have 2 pikes and all they eat is krill, I wont feed them tuffies and they arent interested in silversides. Any suggestions to vary there diet alittle?
Thanks for any help

It's a Cr. sp. "Belly Crawler"

Frozen Mysis shrimp is about the next best thing you can feed them, give it a go, they should love it. Soak it with some krill if you want, as that will probably help also. Hikari -Marine A- sinking pellets are great, my fish love them. Hikari also makes sinking Carnivour and Massivoure pellets that are a smash!! The ID's are on the mark also, great looking sveni and belly crawler!! Congrats! Might I add that that Caquetaia kraussi is look superb!! Awesome! Love Caquetaia!!!!

Thanks for the ID and feeding suggestions.
Peanut thanks for the kind words on the kraussii, I got them to spawn at about 8 months old. I was very excited when I turned on the light and saw 1000 or so eggs.
:topic: but what the helk.
If you look closely near the brick colored rock you can see a few fry.
Next time I think Im going to take the eggs out and put them in a 15g.

i coulda snatched up a sveni sunday...kinda wish i would have now, but i also have a bellycrawler.

mines seems to have very little shyness and eats frozen shrimp, earthworms, frozen fish fillet, mysis shrimp and bloodworms.

Off to a great start already with the feedings bro. Congrats. If it starts getting reds on the sides and a spot in the dorsal, tis a female.

SMS, definately love the kraussi, thanks bro!! Keep us updated on the pikes, seems the combo is working fine for you!!
