Yeah i gonna build a pond it will have pikes, pbasses lima shovelnose and maybe one or two other fish what are your ideas on stocking is cement an okay sealer?? my main question is what the size it should be originally it was 8'by30"by12" but many people on this forum didnt like the idea. would four feet by four feet be better for pikes or is longer better? it must be around 150 gallons not much more. we MIGHT doble the depth but i wouldnt count on it.
Please criticise or whatever and i am wide open to suggestions. the faster i get replies the faster i can start building and the faster i can fill it with pikes!!! i am looking forward to it!
thanks a lot:D

go for as much floor space as possible the first idea is good just make it deeper

if your going to try to keep more then one pike in there DEF go for a longer pond

I am sure you are right but what is the reason??? anybody else? thank you killerfish for the reply!

If you're going to be keeping fish over a foot long in there, I'd make it taller so they can feed easier from the surface occasionally. Just my two cents, and the dollar is getting pretty weak...

pikes can be very aggressive twords each other and if the pikes in the pond started fighting then 4 feet isn't much room to swim away from the aggresor

Yeay i nkow bigger is better but i cant afford a big pond that is 10x4x2 :nilly: out of the question! i wish i could have one that big though.:D:drool:

if you cant afford it then save up for it, no sense in being impatient and half assing it. The pond you have planned out right now will be awfully small for the fish you want to put in

Sorry thats as big as i am gonna go. thanks you all :headbang2i know its not the best but i really thank your standards are too high:eek:

so which one are you going to get the 8'by30'' would be fine for a long time the Pbass would be the only ones to out grow the pond but still i wold make the pond deeper with only 12'' of water the pond is really only good for polypterus or sting rays
