i'm thinking of getting a pike (used to have a orange pike but he died from ich:cry:) and i was just wandering what are the biggest species? i don't want a dwarf because i have an oscar and someother fish that will get big and i don't want the pike to get eaten.

the largest pikes would be any of the pikes in the lugubris group, like venuezla, marms, lents, xingu and what not.

how large is your oscar....oh and for the record, I would be more worried about your Oscar being killed by a pike then the other way around......Granted one can't eat the other.

But I bet a good match for your oscar would be one of the Lugubris pikes that stay in the 12-15 inch range, a Ven might end up to large for your O, but say, a Cobra or Lent could work, although they seem to be aggressive. A Cincta or Marm would go good too.
