I didn't know what fish species they fell under. I saw pike top minnows and was wondering if anyone had information. I have found some on the internet but I want to make sure its right. I want to know minimum tank size for a pair or a group, food to use, and how hard they are to find. And another ifnormation on them will be gr8t too!:)

any one?

I dont know much about them except they are hard to come by. The males smaller than females. males 4 inches and females 8. They need atleast a 75 for a group. They may kill each other as they can be cannibalistic

wld a pair work in a 30gal? Also does anyone know where they originate from?

One big factor to keep in mind, they're very skittish.

also make sure the side of the tanks are covered with fine soft plants as if they jump or run from sumthing there beak could get damaged from the glass

cld they live in 125 with 2 tiger oscars and a bullhead catfish?

I had a male and female Belonesox (Pike Topminnow) mate in a 20 gallon long. The female died of complications in birth. They are livebearers. I was able to salvage 13 fry before the became munchies for the other fish. As stated before, as fry they are extremely cannabilistic.

I had to act quick and placed the 13 fry in a 1 gallon plastic critter cage before finally setting up a tank for them a few months later.

They are said to be extremely picky eaters and only take live food, but I have been lucky in raising them from mico-fry and have mine trained to eat any type of finely cut meat from a plastic spoon that they take turns swimming right up to and snatching greedily. Awsome little fish. They are very slim and skittish. No way that they survive an oscar.

They can go brackish, and do prefer at least some salt. Again this puts them out of water parameters with most any S/A cichlids.

Other livebearers (adaptable to salt) work well with Belonesox. The adults had no issues being kept with freshwater flounder. I keep mine in a mixture of 1 heaping tablespoon (not teaspoon) of marine salt per gallon of water. This is still well below brackish at ~ 1.002 S.G.

I wish I was a competent photographer, so I could post some decent pictures for you. I suck and unfortunatly U need a decent imagination with my paltry pic skills. Anyway here they are:
