okay, my beautiful orange pike, which only recenly was ID'd, is just about dead today. I've had this fish for almost four years, never had any problems.

Last week, we moved him from one tank, where he was getting a bit too aggressive, into another tank. All water parameters are normal, the transition was done slowly, and other fish who were moved simultaneously are all fine.

It's been a total of four days- was fine, ate, swam around first two days. The third day I noticed his fins looked clamped, and on closer inspection he appeared to be losing color on his tail- in short, it looked like fin rot to me. I had just done a large water change on the tank, and the water quality is extremely good- I added Melafix, some salt, and turned off the light. I have unfortunatley been very busy this weekend, so if I'd had time, I would have done another dose or tried another Tx of something( formalin or salt). Today, day 4, he's upside down, half white, and I'm at work, assuming he'll be dead when I get home. NO one has fought him, no one has harrassed him, water parameters are normal, WHAT WENT WRONG????

I used MelaFix, and added extra salt to the entire tank (I wasn't sure if I could mix MelaFix and Formalin, so I was going to do a water change today after work and treat him with a Formalin dip, if he's still alive)
