Pikes and gars?

I have a Venezuelan with a marbled gar(really a characin) a indo tarpon, albino Senegal bichir and a silver $. Pretty peaceful with the gar at least so far, stays all the way at the top, he sometimes pushes the big bichir out of caves and pipes, and occasionally gives the silver dollar or tarpon the nip when they come into his strike zone... He's pretty peaceful i think u should be ok. Doesn't sound like that but he doesn't nip them hard just barely touched them no split fin or lost scales. I had a 4.5 inch archer fish that went ham on my tarpon and sd I had to remove him. Lents and vennies are both lugubris sp. so I think u should be ok. I find if u raise pikes with peaceful fish they will be peaceful, but if u keep them with other cichlids they will be more aggressive. Just my .02 GL with whatever u decide to do

Gar with any Cichlid is a bad idea most of the time

I've kept gars with Peacock Bass many times before. I feel, that as long as the cichlid (for me Peacock Bass) isn't aggressive enough and the specie of Gar isn't to aggressive (florida/spotter gar) then it should be fine. My Peacock bass and Gar just ignored each other.
