pike's and rays ?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I would not put any Crenicichla with rays,Not sure about earth eaters you may be able to get away with them but would be afraid that they might pick on the rays while sifting threw the substrate.

I don't see why not....Scat. keeps his rays with his Crenicichla lenticulata, and they are more aggressive than vittata. I would be cautious about adding the Geos though, as the pike will probably pick on them. If you could find Crenicichla acutirostris though that would be much better...and more attractive! ;)

I would have to caution that my lents are fairly young and not breeding. I've seen the male latch onto the tail of the male motoro a couple of times. Honestly I was more concerned about the ray launching his barb through the face of the pike.

I think that I will need to seperate them eventually. If I see bite marks or chunks missing from the rays the lents will be my first suspects...

I had a pike take out over a grand in rays.... I would highly advise against it
