Do they work for fungus or wounds that may be infected ?

I had an ornate tetra that broke the top of his tail fin and the base was half ripped as well and was beginning to get fuzzy. Long story short after treating with mela/pima fix for 7 days the base healed. The top half of the fin remained bent over, but no more open wound.
