I have an oscar in the same tank as my bichir, and the oscar has a bit of a fungal problem. Will my bichir be fine if I use pimafix and aquarium salt in their tank, or should I put the oscar in a quarantine tank?

you good no worries. stuff safe for all fish, and will not hurt the bio filter, i buy the stuff by the half gallon, pimafix and melafix.

It is safe, as well as useless. You might as well treat with cough drops.

I've used pimafex when some of my polys had some fungus problems and it cleared up the fungus pretty fast so it definitely won't hurt the polys when you are treating your oscar. However I would watch and make sure that the poly doesn't get the same fungus from the oscar.

It's actually quite worrisome that you have so many sick fish. Instead of spending money on meds, why not invest in better living conditions?

Thanks for all of the quick replies!
Though I'm certain that my poly is in good health for the time being, the pimafix is having little-to-no affect on the oscar who had the fungus in the first place. :\

I've never had any visual issues with using pimafix or melafix and air breathers, however I do remember reading some were that fish containing labyrinth organs can be affected with such things as burns to the organ. Most likely with over usage and an unventilated tank.
