hi guys recently i read that pimafix is good for preventing fungus and bacteria in channa bleheri tanks? how to treat dose pimafix only for preventing fungus for bleheri? thx guys
u know what u can do instead of spending tons of money on that is go get a big jar of minced garlic and soak some frozen food in it before feeding..that will prevent funguses and parasites..
geez i didn't know that.. thanks for the info.. but i've purchased the pimafix.. but confused on dose.. my bleheri snakehead sometimes scratch his body in the stone 1 or 2 times.. starting yesterday.. i just want the best treatment as fast as i can.. should i go for desease treatment dose that stated on the bottle?
IMO pimafix and melafix are better off in the garbage than using them on any air-breathing fish.
That being said, are you treating or just trying to prevent disease? Treating is one thing. However, trying to prevent disease with medication is a waste of time and money. If you don't perform a full treatment regimen anytime you introduce meds into a tank, any pathogen that may be in existence in the system will only build up a tolerance to the meds you administer.
Best bet to prevent fungal infections is proper maintence, varied diet, salt in the system, and maintain proper temp.
Best bet to prevent bacterial infections is proper maintenance, varied diet, reduce tankmate hostility.
Follow proper quarantine procedures before introducing new tankmates and live foods.
Treat only when there is reason to treat. And, once treatment begins, follow the proper dosing and treatment regimen for the full treatment duration.
