Hey all. So I have these three 8 inch four stripe pictus or Pimelodus blochii (formerly clarias) that I've had forever. Got them at about 3 inches each and never really learned anything about them. Used to be very social, but once hitting 6 inches they began to hate each other. Had them with everything from a 10 inch female dovii to 1 inch convicts. Currently with a mix of south and central american cichlids from 1 to 8 inches and they are doing well and eat everything I put in front of them. Does anyone else keep these guys? I've heard they max out around 12 inches and would love to beef them up a bit more once my grow outs get the 90. Feel free to post some pics. Not sure if they are captive or wild caught, but assuming the latter as I have never seen them before anywhere. I'll get some pics up once the new 90 is set up. Thanks in advance.

I have one and he eats anything as well. Is yours aggressive during feeding? Mine will Start little fights with my other cat(which it hates in general) and cichlids. Here's a pic of him uploadfromtaptalk1391201878714.jpg

I have one! Ive had him for a little over 2 years got him at around 2.5" and was 7" when I measured him in August. Grew to 6" in a year. Mine was always the same his personality never changed. Hides until he smells food and goes crazy!!! He wasn't aggressive but didn't take crap from no one. At the 6" mark He would fight anyone who would come near his cave and break up fights with my old (don't have) festae, he is the sole ruler for sure. He seemed to mellow out now though still comes out and eats all the pellets but usually will tolerate some in his spot but will try to annoy them out by wiggling against them. Awesome fish!!
