hey i was wondering if i could put a few pim catfish in with my cichlids: 2 jack dempseys, 1 blood parrot, 1 silver dollar, 1 bristlenose pleco, and i am getting 1 tiger oscar, 1 green terror, 3 firemouth cichlids, 1 convict cichlid, and 1 freshwater stone-lionfish. i was thinking like 2 pictus or 1 ornate pim. would they be ok? i was gonna get a rapheal's but since they just hide i thought back to my first cats, 2 pictus, and since they where always moving and eating leftover food i thought of getting some for my cichlids. would they go ok? thanks:D

alot of variables to think about with that such as, tank size, the fact freshwater stonefish are infact brackish, agression from larger more aggressive fish on fish such as the firemouths etc... can you post more info about your set up?

the tank is a 125 gallon, 72Lx18Wx24T. the stonefish is a freshwater species from south america. it is not setup yet. but will have 2 305 filters, or 1 ac110.plus a marineland biowheel filter rated for 80 gallons. it is filled with artifical driftwood and will have a rough sand bottom. 2 200 watt heaters, 2 36inch full spectrum lights. it will have tons of hiding places and lots of artificial plants. i have cleared all the other fish already with people on the forum, and am now trying to find a species of catfish for it.

i keep a pim blochii (4 line) with my jd, they squabble but it is shortlived and never serious, if you get all the fish on your list you wont have any room for catfish imo

ya the list i subject to change, actualy it will change. the oscar and convict are still maybes. so the pim catfish would get along with them just fine? i am looking at the pimelodus ornatus. or 2 pimelodus pictus. thanks

you can never know for sure but mine do, i used to have pictus with the jd and they got along for the most part, i got rid of them when i picked up the fully grown 4 line pim off cl for free, the jd was younger and smaller then also

ok thanks i will have to pick up my "kittens" then. the ornate is about 2 inches and the pictus are the same size but a little bulkier.
