Pimp...my....tank (ok, soon-to-be tank.)

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I'm going to get a gigantic 2.5 soon, maybe a few ghost knives, or datnoids? Okay, it'll just be bettas.... haha.

The thing is I have a bad habit of "preparing" tanks before I get them. I can't quit it either.

What would you do with a huge 2.5 gallon tank? :D

What color gravel?
What kinds of plastic plants?
Any real plants?
Rocks?
Themes? (i.e. nautical, completely natural, amazon-themed, blue themed, etc.)
Special Features?
Color of betta?
Color of base and stand (included with the tank)

So what would you do with the ridiculousely huge 2.5 gallon of your dreams? LOL :naughty:

if i had a 2.5 just laying around, i'd throw a little bit of cash into it and do a nano planted tank. black sand, 18watts Compact flourescent, DIY CO2, dose with a nice brand of fertilizer for planted tanks, and u can grow pretty much anything that you think looks cool in there. add a nice blue betta that would contrast the black sand and black background and you have yourself a NICE little tank.

edit: don't forget a couple olive nerite snails for algea and Malaysian trumpet snails for the sand (MTS not really required, but the nerite's would be really nice to keep away the algea.

DIY the co2 or else it'll cost quite a bit, and just make sure u got enough light for it and it should be pretty sweet.

I figured out the cost for a nano planted tank and it isn't horribly expensive. I, with the ten-dollar-a-week allowance (I'm a kid, so what) will be able to afford it. I'll probably do that... I'll get CO2, Fertilizer and a flourescent bulb, with black or pebble gravel...
how old are you?

I also vote for nano-planted tank. However, I'd swicth out the nerite snail for a couple of Amano Shrimp, or Red Cherry Shrimp. And keep in mind that if you get bit by the planted tank bug.. you're in for alot of money spending for a larger tank.

why dont you get a 10 gallon? its like $45 for a kit with a cheap filter and all.

One inch per gallon you could do a 2.5" Oscar. :)

Why not take that $10 a week and go for a 10 gallon tank?
