in front of my cichla tank,IL
if i were to get a few at 2-2.5inches how long would it take for them to catch up to my orinos that are currently 6inches?
when i got the ocell at 3-3.5inches i got him to double his size in about a month or 2.

Power feeding is a good way for them to catch up. Power feed the pinima, and feed the orinos less.

:iagree: power feed and keep water conditions perfect with regular water changes and the pinima will catch up in no time. besides orinos are one of the slowest growing cichla you can get.

this is a question for high city ryda, he has some monsters, im sure he knows the growth patterns.

I started with a 3-4" orino and a 1-1.5" pinima. Now I have a 5-6" pinima and a 3-4" orino. This is about a 2 month span.

This is the answer you were looking for. :) So yes they will be fine! A word of warning would be keep a close eye on things because the Orino's can eat the Pinima at this size but as long as your feeding them there required amounts daily then you should be fine.

oh no i wouldnt put them in with the orinos right away not untill they r big engough not to be a quick snack anyways i have some little pbass around 2-3 inches now so they will have 2 more buddies lol
would $40 each for a 2-2.5inch wild caught pinima be a good deal?

i would pay twice that for a pinima of any size!
go get em!
i think pinima grow pretty fast as well.
so it should all be good.
