Those are the ones. I was wondering if they are social? They will be in my classroom and I don't want them to be stressed by my students. For a few weeks they will be the main attraction. Also I was unsure if they basked or if they were fully aquatic but the link has answered it for me.
 
Most baby turtle can grow up to be accustomed to people and some light handling. I wouldn't hold these guys too much until they get use to you after a couple of weeks.
 
They are baskers and very social as far turts go. As normal handle them as litle as possible. Also in such a big tank you dont want to start with hachlings as they will be harder to feed. You want insted subadults or at least yearlings;)
 
Thanks guys. I am not a big fan of handling turtles so that will be kind of limited. Right now there are two male and 16 female guppies in the tank. I am letting them get a head start on breeding so that the population would grow before the turtles were purchased. I suspect I will have 50 to 150 feeders in there at all times so that food will be everywhere. Is that plan ok?
 
Yes feeders are ok but make sure to feed a varied diet with a high quality turtle pellet like Reptomin or Mazuri along with earthworms, crickets, freeze-dried shrimp, cichild pellets, shrimp pellets, thawed shrimp and fish.
