I have two pink convicts (male and female) and they are about 2" long. They live in a 180g tank with various other SA/CA cichlids, and they are the smallest inhabitants. The larger ones approx 4". Including a larger breeding pair of black convicts. My question is, the female convict is forever chasing the male away? I have heard of and experienced the male chasing the female but not this? I know the female is a female as she has the orange on her belly, and the male has no colour and has extended dorsal and anal fins. I believe the female to be ready to breed because of this colour and because she is very round in the belly. I am wondering if the size of them is stopping them from breeding? Or is it something totally different? Any help would be greatly appreciated? I should also mention i have a rogue black male convict in there who is probably about 2.5-3" (a spare from when i was trying to get a black pair, i managed to get rid of the others but not this guy) he doesn't seem to bother either of the pink Cons, but i wondered if his presence stops the pink male from interacting with the female?
