Yesterday I found a pink paddletail eel at my LFS and I snatched him up because I love how it looks. Right now he's in a 20g with a fine substrate, I haven't seen him eat yet though. Anyone else keep these? I read online about them but all I really found out was that they're semi-rare.

any specific needs I should tend to?

Assuming you're talking about Moringua raitaborua, I really don't know much about them, just that they are primarily brackish water fish, get about 18" and like to bury themselves in sand a lot like the spiny eels most of us are pretty familiar with. Being a very thin serpentine fish the eel would probably do just fine in a 20 long for life, of course bigger is always better.

Could be a very interesting fish in a brackish 55 with some scats and mollies.

Let us know how it works out for you. :)

brackish, really? strange the employees at my LFS didn't mention that... I'm not sure what its scientific name is off the bat, but I've also seen it as purple spaghetti eel. lol.

I'm getting a teacup stingray next week, I think maybe I'll bring my eel back... I don't want it to die in my FS tank. I really didn't know it had to be brackish, and I don't think I'd be able to keep a brackish tank
