I've been really wanting to get a severum lately however, I'm not sure on the type of severum I'm looking for. I think last months picture of the month had a picture of the one I've been looking for, I just need to know what type it is. I'll attach an image of the one from the POTM.

male gold severum, make sure you pick one up at a good size that has the worm pattern on its face otherwise it'll never get it.

the males are the ones that usually have those "masks" and the red dots along the body.

My gold severum is entirely gold except its anal fin and pectoral fins have a hint of red on them.

I wish I had a pic to show you the difference.

thats def a red sevrum.

Anyone else who can definitely confirm?

The fat one and the one at the front of the tank with its mouth open are gold severums.

One is from someone on this board and the other is from aquaarticles.

The other two are the red severums, but thats the only picture I could find of them.

There also exists a red headed severum but that has a greenish blueish base color.

I truly do not think it is a red severum.

I think you are right. I keep looking at the very first picture that I posted and you can slightly tell (bad quality picture), the hint of gold hue on the edges of the fish, can you see what I mean? I think it might be a gold severum. In the POTM thread I asked and I think someone confirmed it was a gold one as well. but the owner of the picture and fish never did ...

Sorry i cant help with the id, But i love this fish its stunning i've had it as my desktop ever since it appeared in POTM.
