i have one of them? i hear they do better in groups though is that true? if so in a group of how many?

Also does it take him awhile to eat i got him 2 days ago and i put some small feeder fish in and he hasnt touched them? What else should i try and feed him?

not really then can be kept in large groups of 6 or more but when kept in small groups they fight alot so if you have one it will be fine with out other chalceus

as for it not eating that normal with alot of top water preditors they won't eat the first few days most are skiddish and get stressed eazily give it a few days and it should eat if it doesn't eat in like a month then you should worrie

feeders aren't the best foods they should be givven things like fish fillets, shrimp, krill and worms like night crawlers or blood worms when small the thing about feeders is that they are often kept in crowded conditions where parasites spred like crazy so if you have to feed fedder i would suggest keeping your own feeders and makeing sure there kept in clean water and don't have parasites

Yup.....they are like beers. Its ok to have 1. if you're going to have more then 1 make it a 6er or more.

I've tried a pair and a group of 3......both resulting with an aftermath of a single living specimen.

Cool fish...tough lil buggers. Skidish slow growing jumpers.
