Anybody know the perfect substrate for these frogs? I was thinking just have none at all, just lots of plastic vines on the bottom. Hoping normal gravel does not get stuck in there mouths or something when they eat!
Would sand be really good, will they bury in sand and like it?

They will definately bury themselves in the sand. Sand would be your best bet, just avoid any corse, abrasive sands. I know a few people who use the bare bottom method and they do just fine with that and a bunch of hiding spots. I would think the gravel could be a problem when they're shoveling food in their mouths...they probably eat a good amount of gravel in one feeding.

they could, however, also ingest the sand.

Another option Ive done with my frog tank is to put some large river rocks. Its enough to cover the bottom, provides hiding spots, and easy to clean...

I agree, they like to hide in the rocks.

I have the tank covered in plastic reptile vines! They seem to feel happy in the vines. Got them all in a taller tank now so they might be able to breed easier!
