Im just wondering is it possible? I was reading on a fishing forum and a guy was saying he's caught both in tocantins and he's been seeing Piquiti that are golden with kelberi spangling and its getting hard for him to tell the difference. What do you guys think?

I was just wondering cuz they look alot different than the standard silver and blue azul, mine have a goldish base color but not quite that dark or that amount of spangling.

The same species of cichla collected from different areas will vary in appearance.

Fish in the wild gain coloration based on a number of factors such as diet, water conditions, and natural surroundings. The markings remain the same, those are definitely azuls.
