Hello to any1 who reads this... I have a 55 gallon tank with 3 red belly pirahnas.. I have black gravel, live plants, and real drift wood... my question is i'm thinking about putting wall paper on the back of my tank and i would like to know if thats a good idea and if so which type of wall paper is best (ex.. planted background or rocks as a background) I appreciate any responses.. thx

it's really a personally taste. most people would probably say paint the background black or use a solid dark color wallpaper to help bring out the color of the fish

i have black but if i ever switch tanks, i'm going with a light color, probably blue. All the red bellies i see with no background or blue background look a pretty silver color while mine are very dark

I use black poly satin cloth from the fabric store fastened to the back of the tank with velcro. Total cost less that $5, it's easily removable and looks good too.

You can see ripples in the cloth on the left of the tank in the vid but I readjusted the cloth and it looks great now. Even better than a lfs bg because they are glossy and I don't like the double reflection it gives.
I do use the printed backgrounds with plants but I like solid colors more and more these days. I want to experiment with other colors like browns and greens.

it'd be interesting to see how the piranhas colors adjust to brown or green backgrounds. Good idea
