Defiantly piriba. I do have a picture I’ve one even smaller somewhere. I will find it out for you.

Although. Id actually say Brazil myself, looks different to my Peru. But that could just be down to size.

Great pick up.

Looks to be either Brazil or Peru. 2nd photo angle are the best shot. Proper side view. Personally, never had experience them this small but would love to see its outcome.

About their pricing, indeed they are cheaper now. Most piraiba in the trade rarely exceeds 200usd. The cheapest I found around 120usd converted.

That would be interesting to see.

I haven't picked up anything :( Just advertising for those who currently has dough in the fish-buying bank. The pics are Steve's, off his website.

Is that in Indonesia or Philippines? I forget where you are at.

Malaysia. Why don't you buy em, try em out. After they get to certain size, sell em. Like retailer for big fish. It is easier to sell a fish in the US than here. I would've open my own business lol, underground online monster fish shop

Can't buy them all. Yet. My tanks are maxed out. And I have a wife... who also happens to have been financing the building of our venture with her paychecks for the last 7 years.

One of the reasons why the prices on the Piraiba have been dropping is because the locals (Peru) have been able to find the 'mother load'. The 'normal' local price has been around $70 usd for local collectors the past decade or so.. this year, local prices have dropped to as low as $15 usd per fish. One of my fish buddies is one of these exporters from Peru. He mainly ships from Peru to China but all his shipments go to the US first, where the fish get a water change before getting reshipped to China. All the dead fish are taken out on this stay-over to insure a better chance of shipping success. So cheaper local prices=cheaper end user prices

This one's nice. Love the spots & black patches on it. Even dorsal are black. It may or may not be permanent tho. Looks like my Brazil when he's the same size.

Yeah, I didn't know what to make exactly of the black dorsal. The coppery base color is unusual too. It'd be interesting to see what comes of this fsh indeed... but I am not the one at the moment :(
