Alright guys, i just picked up a couple 2" red belly piranas today and was thinking of putting them in my 240 w/ my 6" monos. Is this a bad idea? I've never kept piranas, so i don't know much about them other than they can clean a chicken bone in a matter of minutes. Are they really as aggressive as they are made out to be? Will they nip at my cichla? Any input is much appriciated! Thanks!

P's are illegal fish in Texas

yep the cichla would eat the piranha

although theres a reason peacock bass have an eyespot at the base of their tail, it's to deter piranhas attacks (piranahs attack from the rear mostly) so if you had them at about the same size it may be worth a shot (no guarentee's)

i still don't think there would be much chance of a cohab though piranhas are rather unpredictable in aquariums (as far as tankmates are concerned)
