Hi,

Does anyone notice there piranha (red belly) favoring any types of plants?
I want to re-do my Piranha tank as well he has no more plants left virtually.

Anyone have any recommendations?

Also how planted should the tank be?

Right now in the 75G I have about 1/3 of the tank being spread out plants. 1/2 low plants to have running room.

it really just depends on how much lighting you have and how many plants you want to have. i have tanks with just a few low light plants and i have tanks that are full of plants and i have never had any problems with having them destroyed by my piranhas

I guess its a wierd questions I am not asking what I would like but directed towards has anyone seen a piranha have favourites etc.

I realise he would make use of a sheet if plastic if made sense.

Ah its a strange question No coming back from it ...

well, there are plants that do very well in piranha tanks, but i haven't really noticed any that piranhas seem to enjoy more than others... although i usually stay away from vals now because my piranhas seem to enjoy biting them more than other plants.

i have loaded my tank with sword plants (12 plants that are pretty big) the piranha seem to only bite the leaves that wave out into their swimming paths and with enough ligh and ferts the plants grow way more then the piranha can damage

i actually bought a box of vals from linders and spread them out in my tank.. they Ps like to nip once in a while but its not enough to kill the plants.. i dont fert either
