hey again, i have three 3 -4 inch red belly piranhas and ive heard of people keeping plecos with them and i was wondering if this is true. i figured piranhas eat everything. i have a common pleco about 5 inches long. is this true? or would my pleco be dinner? thanks again!

well if the pleco id big enough and thep pleco has to be in the tank before the p's so the ps see tat its n the tank first, then its his tank. atleast thats what a friend told me to do if i ever did that

ive heard of plecos being in a pirahna tank. but like the first guy said... the plecos were in the tank before the pirahnas were. but you never know... you might get lucky. some people do. i was told not to put a "blue lobster" (sorry dont know real name) with my red tail cat because the cat would eat him. my "lobster" survived for a year. he wasnt attacked or anything, he was just... dead. lol

well actualy, the piranhas where in the tank first. i really want him in there, but i dont want to wake up with a pleco missing! or half eaten lol

i have seen and heard of it working. but plecos arnt the cheapest fish, and i wouldnt want to intentionally put that kind of stress on a fish.

i had it work for the first 6-7 months i had my pleco, then it died when they broke the thermometer. Every attempt to add a new pleco in has failed. i've also had no luck with my baby rhom, within the first night i always fine only the head left

I have lost only one pleco in 8 year having red bellies. I have three in the now.

i have 7 (3"-4") rbps with a 7" pleco in my 120g. as someone said earlier i made sure that i bought and introduced my pleco to the tank first and then added the then < 1" rbps aswell. as of right now the pleco seems to be rather dominant/aggressive around the rbps and gets right in with then when food it presented. he has no bite marks on his body and the only fin with any bites taken from it is the tail, and those are very minimal. i have found that up to this point they can cohabitate as long as they are not competing for food or hiding spaces, as both tend to like darker areas. i hope this peace will continue but i really dont know what to expect, the p's really respect him now but + 5" from now and it may be a different story. this is just my experience tho, good luck with your setup!
