came home from work and 1 of my RB's was dead between the filter and thermometer. I dont know what killed him tho. It seemed as if he was left out of the group (posted after i first got them that there was an outcast of the group). I also noticed yesterday that he had a nip out of his tail but i didnt know if it was always there and i didnt notice it. I also added 2 crayfish and 2 snails to the tank yesterday so im not sure if the crayfish got him, the piranhas seemed way to fast for the crayfish. They are about the same size so i dont think their claws could even hurt the RB's yet. there are also sizable chunks of meat missing from him and the others are just school as normal. who do you think is the culprit?

only 4 about 2- maybe 3 inches, in a 55 G, crayfish are real small too with tiny claws. I took the crayfish out for now and put them in my feeder fish quarantine tank. should i add in some. should i put in some stress coat or stress zyme, he could have been floating there anytime between 12 last night and 12 midnight tonight.

nah nah, no need to do all of that. Your crayfish probably aren't the culprit. I'd just put them back in. They're more likely to be eaten by re introducing them to the tank then just leaving them in while the Ps are still growin.

Most likely the shoal took out your P for some random that we'll never know. Just bad luck really.

Maybe he was sick the whole time and that is why he was the outcast...He either died and they ate some, or he was dying and that made them attack and finish him....what matters now is the next weakest fish:p
