What can I feed my Piranhas to get a good growth rate out of them? I have been feeding them a diet of Shrimp but they are still growing very slowly, any ideas?

No idea might get a better response in the piranha section tho. maybe the type you have are just slow growers? Lots of water changes always helps because nitrates reduce growth rates and the more water changes you do the less you nitrate concentratio should be

Buddy.... After a one year of absents, I have returned to the hobby......Before leaving, I bred Pygocentrus Natteri.....I grew dime-sized fry to 5 inches within 4 months.....My fastest growth was almost an in ch and a half in a month....Of course you do have to know that natts slow down after 6-7 inches, but it all depends on weekly water changes and varied diet, so you can boost their growth on your skillz...

The secret:
1--->2-3 40% water changes a week....I remember doing 50% one or two times a month too....

2--->bottomless tank, so I can suck out any gook....

3--->Varied weekly diet....
a)Any white fish meat
b)Any raw frozen shrimp, even whole prawns....
c)Once my fish reach 2 inches I continue with seafood mostly....But, I also toss in the "heavy meats" 2 or 3 nights a week.....
d)"heavy meats" include:
---chicken kidneys
---pork liver, heart, kidney

4--->Temperature set a 80.....

5--->For a simple shoal of five, I suggest a 100g tank....

Once your young fish reach the 5-6 inch mark, then start adding the gravel, driftwood, plants, whatever you fins suiting....Hope this helped because I am about to follow the same recipe as above co-me Christmas..HOHOHO!!!!!!!
