S. Maculatus. According to current science, what the hobby knows as "macs" and "spilos" is actually all S. Maculatus. I guess actual S. Spilopluera is nothing like what the hobby knows as spilo.
I see a hint of orange, but I wouldnt call it a ruby red. Beautiful fish none the less.

He looks like a ruby in this pic if its not a ruby red I'm gonna trade him let me know guys

"Ruby red" is just a title for one of these fish that show orange/red. If you think its a ruby red, then its a ruby red.
I personally think that your fish is gorgeous, and easily way better looking than rhoms of that same size. I've kept a 5.5" ruby red and loved it, and I currently keep a 10" diamond rhom that I love. It really is up to you and the tanks you have.

Imma swap him for the rhom still now I have two rhoms
