Thanks guys!

The first picture I would say 100% Serrasalmus Sanchezis. As for the sencond need better pic, it would be a rhomb, but i would still ID as Sanchezis as well on the second one.

Remember most Serra. LFS will label as BLACK, WHITE piranha. they don't know the exact speciese unless you take the piranha out from the river yourself. All other ID would be a big guess base on pictures.

both look 100% rhombeus to me

Agreed, is this at Animart in Madison, WI by chance? I was there the other day and they had fish labeled the same. Everything they had there besides reds looked like S. Sanchezi to me. I picked one up awhile back from them.

So neither is a rhom??? Seriously!? Thats sucks. Any other opinions? How could one tell if it were a rhom for sure in case I go back to check it out?

Also how do people get rhoms?? if the LFS cant tell then do you just have to get lucky or order online and pay ridiculous shipping?

Both look like S. sanchezi to me. If you look at pictures of rhombeus...you will notice right off that the tail is different. That isnt the only difference but in those pictures it is pretty clear...and about all you can see to make a determination.

I would look for members in your area that are selling rhombs...

Is this Animart in the Madison, WI area???
