So, I'm looking for something for my 110gal tank to go in with a pair of bichir, and i'm wondering what your opinions are on piranha? I'm looking for something I can put in a small group that is predatorial, so here's my questions...
What species would be ok?
How many of said species could I stock?
How much do they typically cost?

nope, can't keep p's with them, at any cost, even if the p's did not kill the bichirs imeditally, the moment they get hungry, or bored your bichirs are gone, mabey try a datnoid or two, they get large and for some part are somewhat territorial, and not to mention beutiful, but stay away from p's, both pygo's and serra's.

Thank you very much. I just wasn't sure.

id rather put a bichir then a dat. atleast a bichir can be replaced easier. but either way, p's should be kept alone. there to unpredictable

i have a young rb thats about 3 inches with 2 bichirs right now..he chews their fins away, im scared everyday that hes gonna take a chunk out of one. they've been together for like 3 months now.
i really need to split them up.

I would! as the Piranha nips the Fins the Bichirs will weaken thats when Piranha will strike...

Yeah, pirahnas are very unpredictable, they even tend to eat each other. I would not put a pirahna with any other fish.
