Ok ive done some searches and found two opinions about keeping Ps with exodons.

some say its a go and some say no way.

what do you guys think and why? Experience?

When my Ps get bigger I was thinking about how cool a school of Exodons would look shooting around.

in my 125 i have 16 neon tetras and 5 p's about 3 inches each. and no casualties yet. keeping my fingers crossed. so far so good, and a common pleco.

i keep them well fed though.

wow

do tetras generally work?

yeah they do work with larger piranhas,i have kept bunos aires, redeye and seppae tetras for years, with very minimal casualities(which is inevitable)
it helps if the tank is larger than a 75 and planted to some extent.

I kept 4 4" ps with three oscars for 2 months no accident. looks like ps only go after feeder fish. or fish that get injuried. I had one green terror with ps for several months no problem. later i moved the green terror to a flowerhorn tank, and it got bullied so I moved it back. it got killed by the ps in one day.

i really don't like the idea of keeping exodons with piranhas, about 90% of the people that i have heard do this had their exodons nip the fins of their piranhas and then the exodons were slowly picked off one by one. mixing any types of fish with piranhas is extremely risky, oscars and other large cichlids will always end badly, pulling it off for a few months is not generally considered successful. i would say that your best bet, and the thing that i've seen done successfully the most is a bunch of small, fast tetras with large piranhas, as mentioned earlier, it really helps to have alot of plants and places for the tetras to hide.

that is a horribly untrue statement

Wondering what the point of keeping P's and exodons together is?

Whats the point of keeping any fish together? :screwy:

It just would be cool.
