One of my piranhas has lost some teeth, I dont know how, probably fighting. Do they grow back? I would think they would.

You know one of my favorite piranhas in my tank had the same thing happen about a year and a half ago, I call him FANG because it made the other teeth around where he lost a few really stick out. But you know what. . . THEY NEVER GREW BACK!!! I am still watiing . . . . . he has grown about three or four inches since then and his lip and teeth never got better. I thought they would but finally concluded that if the mouth area gets damaged below the teeth line then well their Screwed!! I am saying this from personal experience not opinion but i think that once they loose them like that they never grow back the other ones around them kind-of fill in to do the jog of the missing teeth. Sorry man but i wish you and your fish all the luck.

well his lip and mouth arnt damaged, the teeth just arnt there anymore. I am really not sure how it happened.

Piranha shed their teeth in a similar fashion to sharks (the dont have the rows of teeth like sharks do however). When I had my Ps in a bare bottom tank Id find their shed teeth all the time and I have a shot glass full of them!
