Piranha with Spots on the Body

I purchased a 3 inch piranha sold as rhombeus more than a year ago. It's now over 6 inches and has spots on it's body. Do rhoms have spots? i have a 10 inch rhom and they don't look alike. My rhom doesn't have those spots? I'll try to post pics.

Pics would help. From my understanding the spots don't go away, just larger scales grow and cover them

Almost all piranhas have spots when there little.

My other rhom lost his spots when he was around 6 inches.

sometimes i can even see spots on my 12" one, very faded spots but they are still there
