How long do you think I can get away with having 3 Red Belly's in a 55 gallon tank before having to upgrade?

Life. If your filtration is up to par (in the ballpark of 8-10 times turnover) they will be allright for life. A 75 would be nicer for the added turning room. But RBPs will not normally get over 10" in the hobbiest aquarium. and the 55 has a footprint of 48"x12". And if you talk to certain people who obide by the 20 gal per P rule your tank is only off by 5 gal.
How long do you think I can get away with 5 baby piranha's in a 55 gallon tank? Do you think I would be able to make it at least a year with 5 in a 55 gallon?
i would say you would be ok for a while, id say they could stay in there but if u can when they get full grown try and get something a hair bigger just for more swim room

what size would 5 piranha have to get too before i would have to move them out of the 55 gallon to the 125 gallon tank? How many inches?
