I noticed something quite interesting, my remaining piranhas have become increasingly more bold and aggressive. I used to have 7 RB piranhas kept in a 75g tank ( yes, I know it's a bit small) but after selling 3 of them, I noticed that each day, the remaining piranhas are getting more and more agressive. Just the other day, I threw in a feeder catfish and they ate it without hesitation, whereas before, it takes like 20 minutes for them to just come down. Also, they dont seem to mind me approaching them anymore... Not at all skittish. I dont get what happened...not that im complaining

it could be that they are getting more comfortable in the tank, or maybe it's getting hot this time a year and water temp has gone up a bit (i have mine set at 74F but it's at 79F today)

Higher temps make em more active thus more aggressive toward eachother and w/e u put in the tank! Like stated above summer will raise the temps, I'm running right at jps specs but the ambient temp just cranks it up.

Also if they have figured out the pecking order and territories that may explain a lot too but we need to know how old are they how long u had em and pics!

yeah im guessing they are re stablishing their pecking order. Prolly a exciting time for rbps. Chance to move up in the world.

ps. dont want to sound like a delta bravo but it would be nice to see those guys in at least a 90 min

That is strange but I guess its not a bad thing. They are probably getting more comfortable with u and the tank

Not strange at all, very common with piranhas. Mine have literally beat the crap outta eachother to establish territory

As stated above more room will also help

Any updates on them? has the aggression increased/decreased?

Good question

they calm down as they get older, during their teen stage they nip the flip out of eachother but its kinda cool watching em Chase eachother, sorta like a long game of tag lol.
