Ok I'm thinking of getting some red bellies because I have been fascinated with them for a while. I read that if cornered they will bite. How are you supposed to clean the tank without the fish removing some skin?

Red Bellies are extremely shy and skittish especially when juvies. It is possible if cornered and you continue to move into the corner where one could not get out and away from you he/she could bite. Always allow them room to "escape". You should always move slow and use caution and common sense when dealing with any toothy fish. I had a rhom i could pet! I miss that guy.......

Btw you could always seperate the tank with a divider.
