piranhas go black

at what age or how big does a red bellied piranhas body strat to go black and loose its silverness and spots,

I'd say around 4-5 inches is when the black spots start diappearing...Born in late April of this year, my growouts are reaching 5+ inches in length and have little to no spots, really faded ones.....Their deep green/black upper boddies really show well when fully awake....I should have this group paired by March 2007 ....
