my piranhas (red bellied) keep taking bites out of my fake plant and spiting it out so i get little peaces of flooting plant please help!

:ROFL:Maybe they need therapy! No, really, my Silver Dollars eat my fake plants, too! I don't know what to do about it! I mean, how do you convince a fish that if that plastic wasn't tasty last time, it won't be this time? Good luck and sorry I have no advice (I do have a bunch of half-eaten fake plants, though, if you're interested)!

Fine, I'll just keep them, then. You're missing out. :)

so it could be like a 1 month think??? i took out all the plants. should i put them back in in like 1 month, 2 week what? should i even put them back?

That doesn't gurantee they won't eat them. Every fish and shoal have a different personality. Mine don't eat my fake plants but they love to do a quick burst and smash their body into my air tube or try to bite it. Sooner or later they'll be able to bite through it but thank goodness they're cheap.

Personally, i'd leave them in just for the additional cover and hope that they eventually lose their interest in them. Some people have great luck with shoals in a bar tank though so the additional cover isn't always necesssary.

Mine would always eat the plastic plants...I'd find the plastic parts in the filters and what not. I took them out and now just have rocks in the tank.
