INDY
Well today I checked in on my shoal of 5 sub adults 6" or so, they ate their omega one pellets and right after I noticed their droppings were all black, normal thickness and consistency but black, the pellets are red and other then that I fed talapia and shrimp. Yesterday I added a 6" crawfish other then that everything is stable. No ammonia no nitrite and 15-20 ppm nitrates and they all seem normal, I know iron can make black poo but nothing has changed except the crawfish.

Anyone experience similiar or have any ideas? First time I've ever seen this since I've had em 7 months or so.

Thanks

It should also be noted that in Indiana where live there has been a drought and we have a water ban, illegal to water lawn wash cars etc and its been going on for a week, did a 55-60% wc as always on Friday. maybe the water is more hard or they have changed something?

You think their sick cause their crap is black?

Never seen this since I've had them and nothings different foods are red and white. I don't think their sick cuz their completely normal, Jw if anyone else that HASN'T fed dark coloration foods has had black poo, it kinda freaked me out when I saw it, and I believe the point of this forum is to ask q's if need be

I would just keep an eye on them , if they are acting fine and eating fine i dont think there is any need for alarm .

Yea that's what I was thinking, just weird to wake up one day and see black poo, and never once ever seeing it before...
