I was wondering if neon tetras would be to quick for a piranha to eat or would the eventually become food? I had a 20 gallon tank filled with neons and I woke up one day to find 2 huge piranhas cramped in it and my cousin said they where my birthday present, I had to buy a 55gallon tank for them because I liked them to much to give them up.............but anyway they didn't eat any of the tetras in the tank so if I add lots of places for them to hide would they will survive?

if the piranhas are big enough they shouldn't bother the tetras.. i threw in a group of 6 neons with my 6 BRPs that are about 1.5-2 inches long, and they didn't survive an hour.. but ill be trying again when they reach the 4-5 inch mark..

in a 55 gal its possible, but have to keep a large number of neons otherwise they will get singled out and eaten.and you'll need plants and other hiding places for the neons

I highly think not thats like saying will guppys last with the piranhas.

I just went out a bought some my p's seems to be afraid and swim to the other side of the tank everytime they come near.

ive seen neons stay with large rbps before with little casualties

funny thing acutally..

i fed my piranhas a dozen guppies and they ate some but left the others alone.. there are 5 left and i put the guppies in prob 3-4 weeks ago.. last week is when i tried the neons.. and they ate all the neons within the hour. the guppies are still there today, and even make babies (all babys die from the filter)
